And another quick thought, although I suspect this may clash with
existing behaviour:
- You can use Alt to drag a window from anywhere within it.
- Could we use Ctrl to activate this tiling / grouping mode?
So without even entering Overlay mode, you could just hold down ctrl +
alt and drag a bunch of windows together to tile them. If possible, I
would also like to suggest that double-clicking while holding Alt
maximises the window. Then it would be a few seconds work with the
mouse then to create a maximised tiled setup with any number of
windows.
