Looks okay to me. Does the hal-system-power-hibernate script ever get
run? You can put something like echo "fooooo" > /tmp/bar-hibernated in
the script to see if it executes.
Also it's worth checking out the g-p-m verbose log, to see if any errors
are reported by hal.
Use gnome-power-manager --verbose --no-daemon to see the log.
