Hi,
well perhaps this is not going as easily as I expected:-(
I'm not that experienced with compiling stuff from source. Mainly just
done kernels etc...
Well I've sorted out all the CVS stuff, and got gnome-pilot and
gnome-pilot-conduits. I didn;t bother with pilot-link as my version can
connect and talk to the palm perfectly!!
I applied the two patches!
BUT, on running ./autogen.sh in the gnome-pilot directory, I get:-
######
Please use AM_GNU_GETTEXT([external]) in order to cause
autoconfiguration
to look for an external libintl.
Please update po/Makevars so that it defines all the variables mentioned
in po/Makevars.template.
You can then remove po/Makevars.template.
Please run 'aclocal -I m4' to regenerate the aclocal.m4 file.
You need aclocal from GNU automake 1.5 (or newer) to do this.
Then run 'autoconf' to regenerate the configure file.
You will also need config.guess and config.sub, which you can get from
ftp://ftp.gnu.org/pub/gnu/config/.
You might also want to copy the convenience header file gettext.h
from the /usr/share/gettext directory into your package.
It is a wrapper around <libintl.h> that implements the configure
--disable-nls
option.
Making ./aclocal.m4 writable ...
Running libtoolize...
You should add the contents of `/usr/share/aclocal/libtool.m4' to
`aclocal.m4'.
Running aclocal -I macros ...
aclocal: configure.in: 113: macro `AM_PATH_LIBGLADE' not found in
library
**Error**: aclocal failed. This may mean that you have not
installed all of the packages you need, or you may need to
set ACLOCAL_FLAGS to include "-I $prefix/share/aclocal"
for the prefix where you installed the packages whose
macros were not found
####
Well I hate to say this, but I'm not really sure where to go from here!
Am I just not experienced enough to be able to compile this stuff?
Should I give it a miss, and wait until the stuff hits Debian Sid (my
distro).
I've checked all the packages that seem to be mentioned and all are
installed. So I'm struggling as to where to go next!
Any advice most welcome! Even if it's "..I'd give it a miss if I were
you!!"
Cheers
Chris
