That doesn't really make much difference... as a first time visitor to a
site, if I discover that some black text turns out to be a link, I'm
going to spend the next five minutes trying all the black text on the
page to see which other bits might be links :) I've no other way of
knowing what potentially-arbitrary distinctions the designer might have
made between different areas of the page, so I have to spend time trying
to learn the model.

Yeah, they are, although I'm not sure that having two completely
different styles of link on the same page doesn't just add to the
confusion :/ Still, users are invariably surprising, so we'll very
likely discover out I'm totally wrong when it goes live :)
