I have an iPod Touch, if there's anything I can do to help out here
short of sending it to you (I need it for work) let me know!
If it's jailbroken, you could run a grep on the whole FS for something characteristic of the plist file of interest just in case, but I don't put high expectations on that. The other option would be to get help from one of the iFuse/libiphone guys ;)
