Hi Matthew,

I think we're both at the same stage at the moment.  I'm looking to get
more involved as well... and like you, I am at a loss as to where to
begin.

I did find a nice utility called devhelp which allows me to access many
(but not all) of the development documentation for GNOME and I
definitely think it will become more usefull.  I'd suggest you take a
look at it as well, if you haven't already.

Of course there's always all of the documentation at
http://developer.gnome.org , which includes lots of white papers,
tutorials, API docs, etc...  as well as links to other resources.

Personally, I'm setting my sights towards working on Evolution or
Galeon, but I'm also considering starting off on a smaller project to
ramp up.  In fact, I'm thinking of assisting the devhelp team, since I
think it's a worthwhile cause... which would in turn help other people
ramp up on developing for GNOME.  It also seems like a great way to
discover what documentation exists and hopefully learn in the process.
