Experience with Norton Crash guard and some other crash protection
software (name I cant remeber, something about a Dog, aptly named) tells
me that they dont work.

On Both systems, the machine was stable (useign the microsoft meaning of
the word, as in crashing once or twice a day on average)

After installing the crash software machines would crash a lot lot more,
and often while booting.

While we are at it, crash dialogues are scary to non-geeks.  I remeber
the accountant at one place asking me if he was going to get in trouble
wit the police.  His home PC had given him the "performed and illegal
operation" message :o)
