Re: Gnome Icon Pixmap Guidelines -- Request for Amendments

Nonsense. So then all rendered images out there (ads, movies, pure art) must
pay copyrights? No, what you do with a program is yours, at least typical
licenses still allow that. Maybe now, after that comment, some companies
will start to request that each 3D artist must pay money for each image
(personal or commercial). Maybe ballpen companies will request rights of all
things you write or draw, too.

I think we should disallow libglade or non libglade apps, only on kind of
GUI construction should be allowed. What about allowing other than C
languaje apps? A no-no-no, I guess if we follow similar rules.

Here, the way to get an image is not important if it is legal (the models
you use are payed or free or own, the program has all the necessary
licenses, textures are free or own, etc). Supposing all legal matters are
right, the only important thing is how the icons look (size, look and feel,
etc).

Let be serious, if we disallow personal ways of work, some people will be
very upset... well, they can lie and say that they have painted them by
hand, but I guess that is not the real solution, that is not the way for a
project like Gnome.
