Customisable Accelerators should be taken care off.

There were already a message on the gnome list, in which author was
asking if it is a feature not a bug. It is quite symptomatic. Because
in current state of GNOME it is more like a bug then a feature.
What is planned to be done about it before 1.0?

I would suggest following plan:

1) Make it possible to disable that feature( on per application, per menu,
and per menu entry basis) and disable it in all GNOME applications
till we can deal with it in a proper way.

2) Devise auto-saving mechanism for the non-stock menu entries and allow that
feature for those menu entries. Applications should not be allowed to
use accelerators already taken by the stock menu entries.

3) Write GNOME Control Center applet for changing key bindings for the
stock menu entries in centralized fashion. If application was using
new stock menu keybinding it should loose it.

Is it how it is going to be dealt with?
