I think I've actually taken care of lots of such things locally in an
attempt to get my own script to build stuff correctly... my focus was
to get "make -q" to not lie as to whether something needs rebuilding
and reinstalling or not, though. (It's still somewhat flawed in that
when header files get deleted, .deps/* are out of line and make the
compile fail, so the script needs hand-holding. I'll figure out ways
around that eventually.)
If someone is interested, I can try to figure out what I had to change
for this.
