I've asked the iso-codes maintainer's opinion on this thread. It's a  
very important issue for emerging languages, and for i18n programs in  
general.

Christian, is there a fascinating and dubious reason why you are  
masquerading under another alias? If people come looking for you,  
should I say, "The cheque is in the mail, and I don't know him.  
Besides, he's had alias surgery."?
