Do we really need to check out _each_ module separately? I'm not sure what you mean exactly, but you only need a full checkout if you intend to use the intltool-stuff. The language files (po-files) can be downloaded from the statuspages and are updated every few hours. So you don't need cvs to GET the translations. See http://l10n-status.gnome.org/HEAD/vi/extras/index.html To put the translations back into the module, you just need to checkout the file(s) you want to replace. cvs checkout gedit/po/ChangeLog gedit/po/vi.po gedit/configure.in Change the files and put them back in cvs with cvs commit. Alternatively, you can use my script "process-translation" in module gnome-i18n/process-translation, which does this for you. Very handy when you need to commit several translations at once. > I'm sure I must have this wrong: it's so ponderous. > > Is it not possible simply to check out all .po files for your own > language, or all .po files for all modules in a particular branch? If you want to checkout ALL translations for your own language (rarely used), you can use fetch-translation (also in gnome-i18n/process-translation module). It downloads all translations from l10n-status.gnome.org for your language. Kind regards, Vincent van Adrighem -- GNOME vertalen: Kijk op http://nl.gnome.org/ voor meer info.
