I'd agree that this is a deficiency of intltool. The role of intltool
is to help other modules, not restricting what other modules
should / shouldn't do. Besides, fixing intltool sounds like a better
solution than fixing all other modules in CVS. We have had few such
problem simply because Christian filed a swamp of bug reports, asking
others to change GETTEXT_PACKAGE to simpler values.
