If you want to play it safe, what you could do is add both the messages
from before the freeze breaker patch and after the freeze breaker patch
to your po file. Then no matter what happens with the freeze breaker
patch you will still have a complete translation.

As an example, I have denoted my sv translation before the patch
"sv.po.old" and after the patch "sv.po":

# This will get hold off my translations of all the differing messages
msgcomm --unique sv.po.old sv.po > sv.po.unique-messages
cat sv.po.unique-messages >> sv.po.old
mv sv.po.old sv.po
# Manually remove the second po header
vi sv.po
intltool-update sv

Tada. A translation with both the translations from before and now, and
that will be complete either way what happens with the freeze breaker
patch. I'm sure the same can be accomplished by just using msgcat, but
that's left as an exercise for the reader.
