Hi,
The choice for american english has been made several years ago and
people went over the source code to make it comply with this choice.
You aren't seriously suggesting to change this now? After all this
would mean to change each and every GNOME application and that would
be a lot more code to change nowdays.
Since the GTK+/GNOME API is in american english (see for example
gdk_colors_alloc) I think it would be both confusing and annoying to
ask developers to use a different spelling rule for user-visible
messages.
