Too much. (expect to have around 60 languages, or even more, when pango
will be available).
Having the translator for language XYZ when the program displays in XYZ
is enough.
We at MandrakeSoft do it in a simple way:
in the source we had among the strings of programmers etc, a string
like " ~ # ~ "; so when displayed untranslated it is a small decoration
at the end; but it can be "translated" as something like:
"Traduction française: Jacques Dupont <jdupont fai fr>"
