Created patch for this. This might require some extra work, but I was able to open Evolution clicking on Edit button. Also double clicking on date in calendar opens Evolution with correct date. But opening specific task did not work. Got this error message:

evolution-shell-WARNING **: Cannot import any of the given URIs

Thanks. I will try your patch on Ubuntu. But for me,now, its not that important. I am more concern with the bug I mentioned at point 1. 

And for tasks, I don't use eds-backend for this. I only use it for subscribing online tasks lists (Read-only).
