Re: [gnome-flashback] ANNOUNCE: gnome-panel and gnome-flashback-session 3.8.1 release

Hi,

  Flashback Session

        * Add session description for using Flashback mode with Compiz
This is _not_ a supported mode for Gnome Flashback, but only
          included for Ubuntu's convenience.
          (Dmitry Shachnev, Philipp Kaluza)

How Compiz session will work with DMs that does not support parameter passing in session file? Or suddenly it does not matter?

Also for compiz session exec line will be something like this - exec gnome-sesison --session=gnome-flashback --session=gnome-flashback-compiz.

  libpanel-applet

        * Deprecation announcement:
The GConf functions for applets in libpanel-applet have been
marked as deprecated since version 3.0, but this deprecation had
never been formally announced. It has been suggested that
these functions are removed as the last included applets
          migrate to GSettings.
We hereby announce that these Gconf functions will be removed
in an ABI- and API-breaking major release of libpanel-applet
          sometime after 2014-12-31.

Maintainers of applets that rely on libpanel-applet are
          encouraged
to get in contact with the gnome-flashback-list to coordinate
a schedule that fits everybody's needs. (Philipp Kaluza)

So that means that you don't plan make new release at least for next 4 months?

  Panel

        * Increase the number of bookmarks visible in Places (Conn O
          Griofa)
        * Miscelaneaus sizing and location issues (Alberts Muktupāvels)
        * Fix a number of deprecation warnings (Alberts Muktupāvels)
        * Improve names of GConf objects (Alberts Muktupāvels)
        * Updated FSF's address (Daniel Mustieles)
        * Update doap files (Piotr Drąg)
        * Modernize run and properties dialogs (Sebastian Geiger)
        * Use "gnome-applications.menu" instead of "applications.menu",
          following gnome-menus 3.8 (Alberts Muktupāvels)
        * Bring old translation files back in sync with current code,
especially the session files (Philipp Kaluza)

  Clock Applet

        * make calendar window remember location expander state (Jethro
          Beekman)
        * remove no longer needed code (Alberts Muktupāvels)
        * allow using gweather 3.9.2+ (Alberts Muktupāvels)
        * Fix clock crash when adding new location (Alberts Muktupāvels)
        * remove deprecated widgets (Sebastian Geiger)

I guess it was way to hard to fix broken EDS. I wrote why it does not work. I sent two patches for another bug.

  wncklet applet

        * no longer use stock items (Alberts Muktupāvels)

I will ask again. Please transfer maintainership to me. I am pretty sure that everyone on this mailing list is waiting for that. You have done nothing to improve this session. It is time to step down.
