[gnome-flashback] ANNOUNCE: gnome-panel and gnome-flashback-session 3.8.1 release

Hello All,

we are pleased to announce the release of Gnome Panel 3.8.1.

This release ships the session descriptor and wrapper script for the
"Gnome Flashback" session. This is similar to the standalone "Gnome
Fallback" session previously shipped in Debian / Ubuntu.

Deprecation announcement
========================
The GConf functions for applets in libpanel-applet have been marked as
deprecated since version 3.0, but this deprecation had never been
formally announced. It has been suggested that these functions are
removed as the last included applets migrate to GSettings.

We hereby announce that these Gconf functions will be removed in an ABI-
and API-breaking major release of libpanel-applet sometime after 2014-12-31.

Maintainers of applets that rely on libpanel-applet are encouraged to
get in contact with the gnome-flashback-list to coordinate a schedule
that fits everybody's needs.

With kind regards,
  Philipp Kaluza (for the Gnome Flashback Team)
