Well, as I said, the plans are very sketchy. I'm overwhelmed with the
work I am trying to do atm, I still just don't feel in the swing of
things. So on my list of things to do is to finish the work I started on
the GUG, to make it complete, more friendly and up to date. When I will
get round to this I have little idea, I would like it to be before 2.18,
but I don't know if there is a possibility of that. There is a chance
this could be just a week or two before 2.18, if that's too late it will
just have to slide. It would seem a freeze in the GUG would just serve
to guarantee that the docs will be shipped out of date.

Matt, if you change the GUG to fit in with your docs, I'm guessing you
would have to redo the changes anyway when GUG is updated. What
advantage would a string freeze give you, other than assuring the Ubuntu
docs are no more out of date than anybody else's ?

Perhaps the GFDL2 or GSFDL could be an option, people interested in our
licencing issues can participate in it's conception, I certainly will be
following it. Some of the issues with the GFDL seem to by rather
exaggerated by some. Re-licencing the documentation could be something
other than trivial.

Now here's a very interesting fact : our documentation is licenced under
the GFDL Version 1.1 **or any later version**. If the GFDL2 fits our
needs, and we are encouraged to actively participate in it's
elaboration, it seems we may not have a licencing problem after all :o)

Love, Karderio.
