Hi Kenny
The point I was making, which some of you may find useful, is that gconftool-2
works even in the linux text console, if the GNOME libraries and binaries are in
your path. In this way you can find and fix configuration issues without having
access to your gui, or having gnome running. Remember to log in as the user in
question, not root, unless you want to change root's gnome settings <smile>

Hi.
I wasn't running a GUI. When I say "text console", I mean the text
based interface you get on a Linux box when you press control-alt-fn.
Fn is a function key on the keyboard usually from f1 through f6.
A text console screen reader provides no information in a GUI.
