[Gimp-user] Can Not Draw Simple Line

I download GIMP 2.10.12

I have created the beginning of my artwork. I now require lines. No matter what
I do I cannot get results. I choose pencil, Choose black, hold down shift key
and click beginning and end. And no line.

Can someone help?
