There is no setting to change the size of the preview in the plugins. 
IIRC there are some plugins that have been recompiled with a bigger 
preview, but I don't remember which and where you can find them. Since 
the next version will have many of these tools work directly on the 
canvas, there is little incentive to change this right now.
