That's an interesting idea, but it's an awful lot of work, and I'm not sure it's
significantly better than simply closing each image one by one.

It also kind of misses the point of my post, which was that if users can undo
their mistakes, we don't need to worry so much about preventing them from making
mistakes.

An "undo close" feature would be a game changer, and, among other things, would
answer the question of "what if the user accidentally saves to an 'unsafe'
format?"
