Re: [gedit-list] Reloading all open files

Ronald,

There is a plugin that allows you to do:
  File>Saved Sessions>Save current session
then you can do:
File>Saved Sessions> Load saved session  (wording probably isn't exact)

I dont have it in front of me, but I think it's called Session Saver.  See http://live.gnome.org/GeditPlugins

I know this isn't exactly applicable to your situation, but at least if you use "sessions" it's a lot less work than reloading even but a few tabs.  With sessions, you can get to the exact same state that you would expect to be able to get to with a "reload all tabs" function.  Here are the steps to get to this state: 1. save current session 2. restart gedit 3. load saved session.

Also, I'd be surprised if there wasn't a setting in one of those gconf config files for gedit that would essentially automatically reload the files... but I don't have a clue.  It might be worth investigating.

Lastly, I'm sorry to hear you're using ClearCase... what did you do to deserve that punishment?!  :)

Is there a possibility to reload all open files at once?

When working using Clearcase, and check in (or check out) a bunch of
files (which also are open in Gedit), the ReadOnly status of the files
changes, and gedit asks me for each file to reload it, which is
cumbersome. It would be handy to have a function "revert all".

I found in the archives of this mailing list the message

 http://mail.gnome.org/archives/gedit-list/2007-February/msg00014.html

according to which this feature should already be present (I'm using
gedit 2.30.1 on Windows 7), but I can't find any entry in the "File"
menu related to this function.
