The possibility to open remote files is not yet supported on OS X. On a
more technical note, this would require us to ship gvfs which makes use
of DBus. At this time we didn't want to go into the mess of trying to
provide the dbus daemon bundled in the gedit package. However, since
dbus is now a requirement for gedit-3, we will need to figure out the
mess anyway, so the remote support will probably be available in the
next release.
