[gedit-list] gedit preferences locked

Hello,

I am running gedit 2.24.0 on SuSe 11.1

I have been using gedit for over a year now but all of a sudden all my
gedit preferences are greyed out and I can not change them. It was not
like this until now. Launching gedit as root did not solve the issue.

I want to disable word wrapping but I can not because the preferences
fields are locked.

Google searches did not reveal an obvious solution

Any input is much appreciated.
