Re: [Geary] Something funky with search

[cc'ing the list again]

Hi Stephen,

While testing, I noticed that A never appears in searches. So I tried starring an email in a different subfolder, and it does not appear, either. It seems that subfolders are never searched for stars; only direct children of the inbox. A regular search for the title will find either email, though.

Here's what I just did to test, starting before I starred this email.

- Baseline: B appears.
- Starred C and returned to the search. Both appear.
- Moved C to an unrelated folder (needs-response). Only B appears.
    - Bug seems to affect any folder, not just Archive.
- Click to view contents of needs-response folder. Both appear.
- It took ~1 second for C to appear in this list, strengthening my suspicion that it's a sync issue. - Ensured geary will not run in background. Closed and re-opened. Only B appears.
- Click to view contents of needs-response folder. Both appear.
- This time, no delay for C to appear. Maybe not (exclusively) a sync issue. Indexing, perhaps?

This is some good information, thanks for looking into it. Does this also happen with other fields, such as the sender or subject line? If so, this and the issue reported in <https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/geary/-/issues/474> may be the same thing.
