That'll probably work well, so would something like the standard road warning triangle[0]. Ideally, which ever icon is uses should communicate "warning" more than "attention".

Note also that the folder list may get reworked for 0.13 and may no longer use icons at all, per the mockup in Bug 737862[0]. That's a fair way off though, and it's not yet set in stone, so fixing the Spam icon for the moment is still worth doing.

I made a try, but as you see in the attached screenshot the inner part of the icon is turned into black by Geary. But it should darken only the colored parts and leave the transparent background as is, right?

What I'm missing?
Please try the attached patch.
