This is weird to me. gdm user should not have any restore sessions. Could you remove them?Window manager warning: Failed to read saved session file /var/lib/gdm/.config/metacity/sessions/10400180e75aafd9ea127344177343700600000010150006.ms: Failed to open file '/var/lib/gdm/.config/metacity/sessions/10400180e75aafd9ea127344177343700600000010150006.ms': No such file or directory ** (process:1028): DEBUG: Greeter session pid=1028 display=:0.0 You need restart GDM after modifying custom.conf.I did manage to get the debug addition to custom.conf a few seconds before the crash but I couldn't see anything that appeared especially relevant in messages.log - what kind of thing should I look for? sudo /etc/init.d/gdm restart What thin clients are you connecting in? SunRay?By the way, the last crash (this afternoon) only brought down my desktop but my thin clients were all happily chugging away for at least an hour afterwards. That crash began as I typed in my password to get past the screen saver (which, by the way, is set NOT to lock upon activation!). Thanks so much! Thanks, Halton. |
