Good catch. Hmm.
I _think_ for now this is a packaging issue; packages should include
/etc/gconf/gconf.xml.defaults with perms of 755. It should work then.
However I'm not even sure I have it right in the RH package. ;-) So
let me go fix that...

This is not really an error, it's a normal situation; the bug is that
an error is printed. I'll see if I can fix it easily in a new release.
