Of course not.  It is because gdb has one of the worst user interfaces
ever written.  I have only seen about one and a half people sort of use it
well :)

The gdb tarball contains code for a different user interface that gives
you direct manipulation and a couple of windows - but last time I tried it
it segfaulted rather quickly.  Don't know if it is more polished now.
