In an attempt to learn Python, I had created the beginnings of a
Tetris-clone. I believe that, with a lot of work, this could be the rewrite
that this post spoke of. I have attached the code. Feel free to let me

still being considered.

Hi Stephen,

I tried your python tetris game, and it could be used as a starting point for rewriting gnometris in python. Of course, it is still very much a prototype, but at least you've got a working version already. You could first get it to a standard comparable with gnometris, then start adding more features. (eg textured blocks, network multiplayer etc).

As for doing this as a summer of code project, you would have to find someone to mentor this. And get it accepted, see:
http://live.gnome.org/SummerOfCode2007

Also, the 2.18.x branch of gnome-games has recently added two new games,
and a lot of work on removing bugs in these is desperately needed. So it's a bad idea to add a totally new game (with new bugs) into the code base during this development cycle.
