It's a list for general discussion among programmers of GNU packages.
Past discussions included choice of accessibility technology, autoconf,
plug-in interface standards & preventing non-free plugins, "can someone
help with XYZ?", pkg-config, making the GNU system more coherent for
developers, how to use OpenJDK & Classpath...

Having more GNOME devs involved in this coordination would be useful for
the projects of existing list members as well as the projects of the new
members - whether it's general discussion of developing free software
operating systems, or specific threads about graphical interfaces or
packages used by GNOME.

There is also discussion of the GNU Hackers Meetings - where GNOME
hackers would obviously be very welcome - and get-togethers at other
events such as FOSDEM. Plus discussion of Summer of Code applications,
licensing, and copyright notices.
