With respect, I must disagree.
A central message of this announcement is that key companies are lining
up behind GNOME to unify the Unix/Linux desktop and create the same
robust develoment environment that exists for Win32, only better cause
its open.
GNOME indicating its not going to be devoting energy to alternatives to
other projects (like browers and office productivity) that are already
acceptably open is a Unity message.
I might not put 250 words on it in the release, but it supports the
release.
