Yes, that was the very first thing I did:

$ sudo apt-get build-dep f-spot
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 18 not upgraded.

Thank you, that got me a bit further. Now it is complaining about glib
dependencies (Requested 'glib-sharp-2.0 >= 2.12.1' but version of GLib
is 2.12.0) but I should be able to google my way out of that.
