Ok, Dotan

Sorry, there was a small bug introduced in my patch. I have uploaded a
new version that should work better.

I tried with your Dotan picture, and it works fine. No small icon under
the photo, but if you select the tag Dotan, then you will only see the
pictures with Dotan tag in it.

The default behaviour for an unpatched f-spot is to NOT import any XMP
tags at all unfortunately.

Let me know if there are any other problems

Allright, I built F-spot with the latest patch, and it does work! All
the photos have tags.

It was obvious to me from the beginning that there would be no icon
for the tags, as I assume that F-spot creates them when the tag is
created, not when it is displayed. Minor issue that is, being how
F-spot is still beta. But yes, when F-spot is released (and hopefully
with this patch) it should most definatly create icons.

My last issue is work out on my way to happily presenting the wife
with a working photo manager is converting the tags from their unusual
encoding to Hebrew. I installed sqlite, sqlite3 and sqlitebrowser with
the intention of working directly on the tags in photos.db but I've no
luck. I'm not sure if this list is the right place to ask about SQL
queries, so I'll subscribe to the sqlite list (assuming there is one)
if I can't ask here.

What is the SQL command for converting all instances of "needle" to
"new_needle"? I specifically need to work on a letter-to-letter basis,
changing for instance the character string
"\u05D0\u05D1\u05D2\u05D3\u05D4" to "abcde" (well, the Hebrew
equivelent of abcde).

I know that I'll need to run 27 queries (one for each letter), but that is fine.

Thank you guys so much. We very much appreciate all the hard work. We
really do. Lots of our friends are going to be hearing about F-spot,
that's for sure. I think I've even got two MS-converts ready...
