Re: [Evolution] [Evolution 3.28.x] ews calendar backend error - "ErrorAccessDenied" / "Access is denied. Check credentials and try again."

      Hi,
with the given information by you I'd say the same.

Hi, good to know.

Although I don't have an idea how to configure thata
and if this is happening - can evolution please skip that entry
which
failed and rerequest the ones the server skipped?

There's one thing confusing. You said you have one such event, but
the
log showed multiple of them. Does server return wrong answer or it's
a
copy&paste error, or there are more such events?

Hm with multiple of them I meant the request I've pasted with the 7 ids
 requested which got answered with 1 correct entry and 1 access denied
and 5 times the "ErrorBatchProcessingStopped":

        <m:GetItemResponseMessage ResponseClass="Error">
          <m:MessageText>Access is denied. Check credentials and try again.</m:MessageText>
          <m:ResponseCode>ErrorAccessDenied</m:ResponseCode>
          <m:DescriptiveLinkKey>0</m:DescriptiveLinkKey>
          <m:Items/>
        </m:GetItemResponseMessage>
        <m:GetItemResponseMessage ResponseClass="Warning">
          <m:MessageText>Item was not processed as a result of a previous error.</m:MessageText>
          <m:ResponseCode>ErrorBatchProcessingStopped</m:ResponseCode>
          <m:DescriptiveLinkKey>0</m:DescriptiveLinkKey>
          <m:Items/>
        </m:GetItemResponseMessage>
        <m:GetItemResponseMessage ResponseClass="Warning">
          <m:MessageText>Item was not processed as a result of a previous error.</m:MessageText>
          <m:ResponseCode>ErrorBatchProcessingStopped</m:ResponseCode>
          <m:DescriptiveLinkKey>0</m:DescriptiveLinkKey>
          <m:Items/>
        </m:GetItemResponseMessage>
        <m:GetItemResponseMessage ResponseClass="Warning">
          <m:MessageText>Item was not processed as a result of a previous error.</m:MessageText>
          <m:ResponseCode>ErrorBatchProcessingStopped</m:ResponseCode>
          <m:DescriptiveLinkKey>0</m:DescriptiveLinkKey>
          <m:Items/>
        </m:GetItemResponseMessage>
        <m:GetItemResponseMessage ResponseClass="Warning">
          <m:MessageText>Item was not processed as a result of a previous error.</m:MessageText>
          <m:ResponseCode>ErrorBatchProcessingStopped</m:ResponseCode>
          <m:DescriptiveLinkKey>0</m:DescriptiveLinkKey>
          <m:Items/>
        </m:GetItemResponseMessage>
        <m:GetItemResponseMessage ResponseClass="Warning">
          <m:MessageText>Item was not processed as a result of a previous error.</m:MessageText>
          <m:ResponseCode>ErrorBatchProcessingStopped</m:ResponseCode>
          <m:DescriptiveLinkKey>0</m:DescriptiveLinkKey>
          <m:Items/>
        </m:GetItemResponseMessage>

I hope you've meant that - if not please ask again.

I wonder why evolution 3.10.4 does not bail about that.

It didn't do so much error checking as the newer does, I believe.
Feel
free to file a bug here:
https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/evolution-ews/issues/new
thus there is some history behind the change.

Going to file one today or at the weekend about that. Continue
discussion there or here or in both location after filing the issue?

I'm always unsure whether it's a good idea to silently ignore errors,
I'd prefer to know when something goes wrong, but maybe there are
cases
which are valid, like this Access Denied error.

Ack. But is there already some way for me that this one entry I can not
 read can be skipped? Because the other 5 ones are also unanswered /
fetched as those were aborted by the server with
"ErrorBatchProcessingStopped".
Or do I need to wait for some code change here (my uneducated guess
would be yes) :D.

It means that some
event is missing and I'd say OWA/Outlook also has that one missing,
but
as you cannot access it it's pretty hard to guess what the event is
to
verify that.

Correct :-|

 Maybe if you try the curl command with credentials from
the calendar owner it'll show you what the event it about.

Thats a good idea - unfortenatly the owner is ill today, but I'll ask
her on monday / as soon as she is back if she can try to help here :).

      Bye,
      Milan

Bye Torsten
