You might also consider not keeping your email on your local system. I
use IMAP exclusively and have precisely 0 messages stored locally. Thus
I have access to my mail on my PC, phone, tablet, friend's houses when
I visit, etc. Not everyone's requirements are the same, but Evolution
is very flexible in this regard.
