The evolution version was mentioned on the first email, Patrick:

remember that in some case evolution sorted by the textual
representation of the date, instead of the date.

So, on an English locale, it could end doing something like:
> Fri Mon Sat Sun Thu Tue Wed Yesterday
(I don't know if/when was it fixed, though)
