even arch was falling behind I think

The policy of Arch is to go with current stable releases from upstream,
very seldom there's a delay. IIRC this is the first time it happend for
Evolution within the last three years.

This likely will be upgraded soon.

You also could use ABS and fix the PKGBUILDs.

[rocketmouse archlinux ~]$ ls -hAl /var/abs/extra/evolution-data
-server/
total 8.0K
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root  148 Jun 10 00:05 evolution-data-server.install
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 1.3K Jun 10 00:05 PKGBUILD
$ ls -hAl /var/abs/extra/evolution
total 8.0K
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root  346 Jun 10 00:05 evolution.install
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 2.8K Jun 10 00:05 PKGBUILD

Or if you don't want to edit a PKGBUILD, just use the PKGBUILDs from
AUR.

Don't care about the git version mentioned on the website, a git
packages usually updates master each time you build a git package.

EWS and other Evolution related stuff is also available.
