Could you elaborate what exactly you refer to? Normally your *server*
sends you delivery status notifications in case of failure, in form of
an email. So there would be nothing specific about Evolution here.

The above is correct; this is not a feature of Evolution but SMTP
industry-standard practice.

Yes, DSN is completely, totally, and entirely on the shoulders of the
recipient.  Evolution handles DSN correctly, provided the receiver
processes the DSN request [most will not].
