Hopefully you won't do it, regarding to the hints how to use mailing
lists. I guess the replies were not intended to offend you. On other
mailing lists the tone of voice likely is really harsh, you likely would
receive links about how to ask smart questions and why threads are
important (for some readers).

Don't worry, your requests are ok, you just was asked to provide
additional information and to care about threads. Hopefully you don't
feel offended.
