I suppose your KDE desktop doesn't run this process on login.
It should, autostart a FreeDesktop.org standard.

More likely the problem is the alarm daemon is aborting for some reason
and nothing currently respawns it. The daemon really ought to claim a
well-known D-Bus session bus name so evolution-calendar-factory or some
other entity can periodically check on it and respawn it if necessary.
