Hi
on the main message list on the GUI is there anyway of changing the date
format from mmddyy to ddmmyy
On the preview pane the date is as
Wed, 05 Jan 2011 11:48:08 +0100 (01/05/2011 10:48:08 AM)
but all the messages are listed like 12/06/2010 for example.
which is in mmddyy format, but for us Brits it reads ad the twelfth day
of June

The date format generally follows the system locale - in a terminal type
'locale' and the LANG entry should be something like en_GB - if it's
en_US, that's why it's displaying the date in the bizarre US format.

You can change your localisation to UK/GB if you want - under Gnome go
to system -> administration -> language and select English(British) -
the change will take effect next time you login.

Alternatively in Evo you can go to Edit -> Preferences -> Mail
Preferences and select the Header tab. At the bottom there's some drop
downs to select different formats - unfortunately it doesn't have the
standard British way though :-(

Hi thanks for all the replies

I've changed in preferences from use local to the wanted format,
restarted evo , but still that top RH date box stays in US format
I've checked the locale setting and it is en_us

from the gnome menu in admin, guess whats missing ..the language bit :(

I've search through what yumex, software installer, for locale, language
and en_GB
and nothing obvious for the name of the language applet. But Gnome does
have the habit of calling applets by some bizarre names.

The other way I could change it is to edit /etc/sysconfig/i18n
the contents of which are
LANG="en_US.UTF-8"

I'm not sure of the en_GB setting, is it en_GB.UTF-8 or does it use an
iso setting.

Thanks
