It's not an "import" (otherwise it would be in the import bit) - what
you are doing is telling Evo to use the pre-existing Maildir format
directories as its own filestore for that particular account.  The mail
is not moved to within Evo's private storage area.

Mail is not retrieved from any external source by Evo for this type of
server, although of course if mail is put into the folders by something
else then Evo will see it.  This type of account (along with the mbox
spool directories) is largely used where the host that Evo is running on
receives mail directly from the net - most MTAs can store things in
Maildir format directly and thus Evo can be told to look in the correct
place for the mail.
