Because you have friends using it ... the same reason why people still 
use legacy IM protocols like MSN, ICQ, AIM, or IRC instead of Jabber.

P.S.: I am banned by my employer of using Skype on any computer connected 
to our VPN, and I am glad I don't have to explain to anybody why I don't 
want to use it.
