Notes:
1) install debug info packages for evolution-data-server and evolution
before you start with this, without it the backtrace will be mostly
   unusable
2) your version or directory where is evolution-data-server located may
differ, depends on your distro, whether you compile yourself...
3) it's possible your evolution-data-server will not be recognized by
evolution in step e), and you'll see two evolution-data-servers
running on your system, in that case stop gdb (ctrl+c) and "quit" it,
find out pid of the other evolution-data-server (ps -A | grep evo)
and re-run gdb like this: gdb -pid=PID --ex c
   where PID is evolution-data-server's pid.

Unfortunately the debug versions, of evo and evo-data-server did not
start, as default they were not even executable??? I'll have to ask at a
Debian list. Results after making them executable:

file /usr/lib/debug/usr/bin/evolution
/usr/lib/debug/usr/bin/evolution: ELF 64-bit LSB executable, x86-64,
version 1 (SYSV), dynamically linked (uses shared libs), for GNU/Linux
2.6.8, not stripped

ls -l /usr/lib/debug/usr/bin/evolution
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 470209 2008-07-06
15:28 /usr/lib/debug/usr/bin/evolution
/usr/lib/debug/usr/bin/evolution
bash: /usr/lib/debug/usr/bin/evolution: cannot execute binary file

Something strange going on here?? Do I have to set LD_LIBRARY_PATH or
add an entry to /etc/ld.so.conf.d?

I'll file a bug report and continue discussion there, but that will have
to wait until Monday next week.

Thanks so far!
