As I've said more than once, I have checked my settings and BF is
definitely the junk filter plugin I'm configured for. Also, this has not
changed since previous versions of Evo under Fedora, when it used to
work.

PS One thing that distinguishes Fedora from most other distros is the
use of SElinux for security. I have SElinux disabled and presumably it
should have no effect, but in the circumstances one clutches at straws
so I wonder if anyone has thoughts on how it might relate to my problem
if at all.

Yes, I realize that. The point I was trying to make is that even on
Fedora one may have juggled with the packages and BF may no longer be
the mechanism that is used to identify spam in Evolution.
