at the left pane in the calendar view, click on the name of your personal calendar so it becomes the default calendar when setting up a new appointment. most likely the read-only "birthdays & anniversaries" calendar is selected, that's why you get that error message (the error message is much more clear in evolution 2.8). cheers, andre -- mailto:ak-47 gmx net | failed! http://www.iomc.de
